She graduated from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. As a high-school senior, Plaza was the president of Wilmington Drama League and her school's Student Government. Plaza is still in her second year of her college career in that year, was suffering from an aphasia-like expressive disorder and was paralyzed. She is now fully recovered. Since 2004 Plaza is performing sketches and improv on the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York City. The Laugh Factory as well The Improv are two places in N.Y.C. where Plaza performed standup comedy. Plaza starred as Robin Gibney on E.S.P.N.'s Mayne Street. Also, she appeared as Robin Gibney on The Jeannie Tate Show. Troopers on CollegeHumor featured Plaza as the role of Princess, a satirical Sci-Fi persona. Plaza's saxophone debut was in the movie Cassorla Bona Fide, 2014. She made her debut in Father John's Misty's Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings 'in 2012. In 2016, Plaza was featured in HarmonQuest in the role of Hawaiian Coffee a gnome. In the same year, she played Aaron Burr In Drunk History as well as Cat Adams in Season 11 of the C.B.S. show on television Criminal Minds. She made a triumphant comeback to the role in Season 12 of the show. The following year, it was confirmed that Plaza would appear in the indie comedy An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn.
